    Wii- Killing Time

Alright, yesterday I tried to purchase a couple VC games, but turned out I only had 700 points which wasn't enough to buy even one of the games I wanted.  So, I went to work to get another 2,000 points card (cheaper than buying them online due to employee discount) today and am now ready to make some purchases!

Ah, dammit.  I need to run upstairs to get scissors to cut open the Wii Points package.

Alright, the card is out of the package, and I realized that both my Wii Remotes batteries were dying.  Luckily, I have rechargable ones, so I just switched the old ones out with the new ones.  Yay.

    Voila!  2700 Wii Points!

Alright, I have decided to purchase Ys: Book One and Two (pronounced like "ease" I'm told) for the TurboGrafx16, and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars for the SNES (don't fret, I purchased Mega Man 9 on launch day already).  With both working out to 1600 points, 800 points each for those wondering, I have 1,100 points left which I think I will hold onto for now.

Ahhh geeze.  As I go to DL the first one, I get a message telling me I don't have enough memory.  Soooo, here goes some deleting.  I delete the Nintendo Channel, and (after copying it to my SD Card) the Internet Channel.  I am not sure why I can't delete the weather and news channels, as I really don't want those...oh well.  Alright, let's try this again.

And they are downloaded- both of them!  Now...since that took me a lot longer than expected, I will not be able to play either of them right now. =(  Ah well, I should be able to later tonight.

Let's make this post worthwhile at least and tell you which systems I own:

    1. Playstation 3 (60GB)
    2. Playstation 2
    3. Playstation 1 (has a mod chip in it...shhhhh!)
    4. Playstation Portable (original)
    5. Wii
    6. GameCube
    7. Nintendo 64
    8. Nintendo Entertainment System
    9. Nintendo DS Lite
    10. Game Boy Advance SP
    11. Game Boy Color
    12. Xbox 360 (20GB Premium)
    13. Xbox (sort of)
    14. Sega Dreamcast (x2)
    15. MacBook (does this even really count as a "gaming system"?)
    16. Desktop PC (of mild gaming quality)
Now, admittedly, some of these systems I am claiming are through backwards compatibility of the newer systems, but the only one that really matter for is the Xbox 360s limited BC to the original Xbox.  Other than that, the other systems are nearly 100% backwards compatible, so no issues there.

This is just MY selection of video game systems.  J and M may have some other ones...but, chances are that most of our gaming would be done on these systems listed here because that is where our main interests lie.  The only other system I really want is a Super Nintendo, but I just don't have the money for one right now.

I can virtually play and review any game on the NES, SNES, or Genesis due to the wonders of PC emulation, so if there is something you want reviewed, drop us a line at our email address, and we will do our best to play it!

Alright, I will be posting updates on Ys and SMRPG in the next few days, so keep checking back for those.  Later guys.  Thanks for reading!

    BJaMs World- An Introduction

Hello everyone and welcome to BJaMs World.  This is a video game blog that will be devoted to three gamers thoughts on the subject (and, lets face it, countless other subjects, I'm sure).

The subtitle, "Three Gamers; One Mission" stems from the middle of Summer 2008, when two friends got together with an old magazine, and came up with our greatest idea to date (yes, we just might be that pathetic...or awesome?).  The magazine was the 100th issue of the Official U.S. Playstation Magazine (OPM) from January 2006, and it contained "The Essential 100" which was a list of the 100 Playstation 1, Playstation 2, and Playstation Portable "GAMES YOU MUST PLAY BEFORE YOU DIE".  So, as these two lifelong gamers talked outside the tent (don't ask) one hot July day, we had the idea that we should play all 100 of these games on the list.  Well, that idea was shaped and polished over the next few days, and became "well, let's just start by taking ten of these games, beat them, then go from there."  It's also important to note that we cut out some of the games in that list due to the fact that neither of us had any interest in them, or they were way to expensive to get a hold of.

And the third gamer, thus completing the first part of the subtitle- Three Gamers- was only a phone call away.

So, here we are, now in the Fall of 08, and we have yet to beat ONE game from that list... BUT, we have not given up hope!  This blog will breathe new life back into our project, and we finally have a place to write down all the ridiculous things that go through our minds while we are gaming.  The "One Mission" that we hope to achieve is really just playing as many games as we can before the three of us split up due to grad school or work taking us away from each other.  Well....that and beating all the games on our list!

Our first two games that we decided to tackle were the ever infamous Metal Gear Solid (PSX) and Silent Hill (PSX).

Look for another blog post soon that should contain all the antics from our first (and only) day of gaming back in September.  We will probably be playing a lot of Survival Horror games in the next few weeks due to the fact that Halloween is just around the corner (our favorite genre!).
